Last Friday, the Intersectional human rights framework was developed: LGBTI and disability, a space where the challenges faced by this community were discussed. It was attended by the UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities, Gerard Quinn, an expert on issues related to violence, discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
For two hours we worked together with a large team of professionals, all connected remotely from different parts of the world to provide accessibility services for the hearing impaired and for people who do not master English, language in which the entire event was held. Attendees enjoyed simultaneous interpretation in Spanish, sign language interpretation and live subtitling in English and Spanish.
